Applying Seismology to the Engineered Environment

ASC specialises in providing seismic monitoring of rock masses and concrete structures, particularly applied to the Petroleum and Geothermal Industries, Mining, Radioactive Waste and Civil Engineering. Services are targeted at supplying an integrated work package along the full data path through sensor array design, data acquisition, processing and interpretation, and can be applied from the laboratory to regional monitoring scales.

ASC has pioneered the development of the hardware and software technologies, and interpretation techniques, used for monitoring the fracturing of rock masses induced by stress changes. ASC is currently involved in international-scale projects aimed at investigating, and further understanding, the mechanics of failure in rock masses subject to hydraulic fracturing, block caving and thermal and excavation induced stress changes.

ASC provides an integrated seismic processing, data management and visualisation software, InSite. This has been developed over the past 11 years as a complete software solution for ASC’s consulting operations, and is now used by many international organizations for in-house processing and management of seismic data. ASC also provides custom software solutions for specialized data acquisition and processing of their clients data.
