Regional seismic monitoring is undertaken for many reasons. These include an assessment of hazards from natural seismicity and for monitoring the impact of human activity (mining etc.) on the Earth's crust.

In general these studies are undertaken to answer one, or all, of the questions:
- where is activity occurring?
- how big are the events?
- what is the consequent risk to facilities and operations?
ASC is able to provide a full range of consultancy expertise for regional monitoring, from selection of hardware, through array design to data processing and interpretation.
We also have experience in the design and commissioning of numerical modelling studies used to investigate 'what-if' scenarios based on a realistic assessment of the earthquake risk.
